Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems or IFS is an approach to psychotherapy, which addresses multiple or multiple sub-personalities within a person’s system. A person has many parts, that they may consider those parts to be wounded or painful. Examples of those parts is shame, guilt, and anger. Often time a person’s parts are at conflict with one another and the purpose of the therapist is to assist the client to become aware of their different parts within their own system. The therapist works with the client to become aware of their inner parts and core self, so healing can take place.
